ICMYI: Ferguson Called Out for Misleading Voters on Abortion
July 19, 2024
BELLEVUE, WA – Bob Ferguson is being called out for misleading voters about Dave Reichert’s abortion record and stance in a new piece published today.
Southeast Politics calls an ad released last week by the Ferguson campaign a “disservice to voters,” saying it is “lacking the critical context” and that the votes referenced “don’t do what the ad purports they do.”
The piece also questions why local media isn’t fact checking Ferguson’s misleading ad.
Due to the outrageous claims that bear no resemblance to the truth, the Reichert campaign sent a Cease and Desist letter to the stations running Ferguson’s ad this week.
In addition to pointing out Reichert’s votes did not do what Ferguson is telling voters, it also notes that by Bob’s definition of “ban,” he too supports a “ban” on abortion. Washington law limits abortions at the point of viability, which as the letter sent notes is generally considered to be at 23 weeks of pregnancy.
Since Ferguson has stated he supports Washington law, he supports a “ban” on abortion in the second trimester.
Will anyone ask Ferguson why he supports Washington’s “ban” on abortion?
Of course, the only reason Ferguson is lying about Reichert’s record is because he can’t defend his own or why he would maintain the status quo when voters are clamoring for change.
Crime has skyrocketed since he became Washington’s top cop, he’s pushed to decriminalize lethal drugs such as fentanyl that are ravaging our communities, and 40 years of one-party rule has left the state unaffordable to live.
Bottom Line: Bob Ferguson is a desperate and ambitious politician who will do and say anything to climb the political ladder, even if it means lying to the very people he seeks to represent.
