Debate Preview: Will Bob Take ANY Responsibility for the Issues Facing Washingtonians?

September 10, 2024

BELLEVUE, WA – Tonight, voters will be able to see the difference between the two candidates vying to be their next governor as Dave Reichert faces off with Bob Ferguson in a debate hosted by King 5, Seattle Times, KREM and El Sol de Yakima.

Career-politician Bob Ferguson has been preparing for this night his entire adult life. Once he takes the stage and the cameras are on, will he finally take responsibility for the multitude of failures on his watch that have led to the most pressing issues for Washingtonians in this election?

Will he take responsibility for the explosion of crime that has happened over the last 12 years since he’s been Washington’s top cop?

Will he take responsibility for the “sexually violent predators” he agreed should be released that went on to commit new crimes?

Will he take responsibility for the fentanyl epidemic that has taken far too many lives? Will he admit his push to decriminalize fentanyl was wrong?

Will he admit that 40 years of one-party rule has led to families struggling to put food on their table and keep a roof over their head due to the cost of living in the state of Washington?

We aren’t holding our breath but that is exactly what voters want to hear from him tonight. What he will do is smear Dave Reichert, lie about Reichert’s record, and spread fear to distract from his own failures.

Washington voters need and deserve a governor that will be straight with them, hold himself and his administration accountable, and will bring much-needed change to state government.

Voters will see tonight that the candidate who will do that is Dave Reichert.
