Dave Reichert Accepts Invitations for General Election Debates in Seattle and Spokane
July 1, 2024
BELLEVUE, WA – Dave Reichert announced today that he has accepted two invitations to debate Bob Ferguson, his likely general election opponent, in September.
The first debate will be held on September 10 at King 5’s studio in Seattle and will be hosted by King 5, KREM, Seattle Times, and El Sol de Yakima. It will air statewide on the debate partners’ television stations and digital platforms.
The second debate will be held on September 18 and will be hosted by the Association of Washington Business and Greater Spokane Incorporated in Spokane.
These two debates held on each end of the state will provide an opportunity for all Washingtonians to hear directly from the candidates to be their next governor.
Washington state’s gubernatorial race has been labeled one of the three governor campaigns to watch by USA Today while U.S. News and the Cook Political Report have moved the race toward Republicans in recent weeks.
Reichert released the following statement on his participation in the two September debates:
“I want to thank our hosts of the Seattle and Spokane debates for the opportunity to discuss my vision for the future of our state. Washington families are clamoring for a governor that will make the state more affordable to live and keep their communities safe. While my opponent is offering a continuation of the same policies that have created these issues, I look forward to sharing my plans to deliver solutions to these problems and more.”
